History of Bobby Three One Oh

Welcome to Bobby Three One Oh, a boutique retreat steeped in the rhythm of the 80s, right in the heart of Ballarat’s historical charm. This home once belonged to Bobby, an 80s rockstar who escaped the glaring lights of fame to find solace, create music, and reignite his spirit in this peaceful hideaway.

Today, Bobby has transformed into a vibrant haven for free spirits, gypsy souls, and creative hearts to escape, recharge, and let their imagination flow. Embracing the iconic Memphis design, our space is a lively tribute to colour and fun—a feast for the eyes and a balm for the soul.

Frequented by authors, artists, and actors, Bobby Three One Oh offers a calm, inspiring atmosphere that helps our guests find their creative spark and leave feeling nourished.

We look forward to welcoming you to our retreat,

Meet Your Hosts, Jodie & Stuart

As Airbnb Superhosts, we’re proud to be listed among the top 5% of accommodations in Ballarat, and we’re passionate about creating spaces that go beyond the usual stay. We own two unique havens: Bobby Three One Oh here in Ballarat and Friday at Frieda's, nestled closer to the coast in Geelong. Each is designed to offer an experience—where creative flair and thoughtful touches meet to make you feel truly at home.

Stuart is a qualified electrician and specialist in solar and battery installation, managing O'Brien Electrical North Geelong with a commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Jodie supports evolving leaders to become the best version of themselves, helping them leave a legacy as creative and innovative leaders through her work at Cranham & Co. When she isn’t coaching, she is supporting Stuart with O’Brien Electrical North Geelong and caring for her mum with dementia.

We’re thrilled when our guests fall in love with our retreats, often returning for multiple stays, and it’s rewarding to know that our places have become memorable escapes for so many. We love travelling ourselves, both near and far, and when we're at Bobby for a weekend with our golden retrievers, it’s pure joy!

Our love for the 80s is infused in Bobby’s design, embracing the iconic Memphis style with its bold shapes, clashing patterns, and vibrant colours—a tribute to a time when creativity knew no bounds.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our retreats and helping you create memories that last!

Giving Back to Our Community

Supporting meaningful causes close to home is a priority for us at Bobby Three One Oh. Over the years, we’ve carefully chosen organisations that align with our values, helping to create a positive impact in areas that matter most to us and our community.

We’re proud to have contributed to causes like River’s Gift – Stamp Out SIDS, working to fund research and awareness to combat Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and Beyond Blue, an organisation providing essential mental health support and resources across Australia. We also support Moyne Health Service in its mission to improve health and well-being in our region, and Forget Me Not – Barwon Health Dementia Research, a cause close to our hearts as they work towards advancements in dementia research and care.

Here’s a snapshot from the Forget Me Not Ball, a special night where we gathered to raise funds for dementia research—a cause we feel deeply connected to.

Giving back is a small way we can help create a lasting impact, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support these incredible organisations.
